At Pearl Med Spa in Boca Raton, Dysport® is priced per unit: $4.50 per unit for 0–74 units, $4 per unit for 75–149 units and $3.50 per unit for 150+ units, with a $100 minimum per treatment. Your total depends on the areas treated and the number of units your provider recommends.

Dysport® is a botulinum toxin type A injectable that is FDA-approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. It works by relaxing the muscles that create dynamic expression lines, and providers may also use it in other facial areas. Your provider will determine whether this treatment is appropriate for your individual goals, anatomy and medical history.

Dysport® is commonly used for frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet. Depending on your anatomy and goals, your provider may also discuss areas such as bunny lines, a subtle brow lift, lip lines, a lip flip, a gummy smile, downturned mouth corners, chin dimpling, the jawline and masseters, neck bands, trapezius muscles (TrapTox) or underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis).

Unit counts vary by treatment area, muscle strength, facial anatomy and goals. Dysport® units are measured differently from Botox® — it typically takes about 2.5–3 times more Dysport® units for an equivalent effect, so a higher unit count does not mean a stronger treatment.

Both are botulinum toxin type A products used to soften expression lines. Dysport® has a broader diffusion pattern that some patients prefer for larger areas like the forehead, and many notice results a little sooner. Units are not interchangeable between the two. Your provider recommends a product based on your anatomy, treatment area and past response.

Many patients begin to notice Dysport® softening expression lines within a few days, with full results typically visible within about one to two weeks.

Dysport® results typically last up to about three to four months. Longevity varies with your metabolism, muscle strength, the area treated and how consistently you maintain treatments.

Dysport® is delivered with a very fine needle, and most patients describe a brief pinch. Appointments are quick, and your provider will work with you to keep you comfortable.

There is no planned downtime, and most patients return to their day right away. Minor redness, swelling or small bumps at injection sites usually settle quickly. Your provider may advise avoiding strenuous exercise, rubbing the treated area and lying down for several hours afterward.

Arrive with clean skin when possible and tell your provider about medications, supplements, recent dental work and any previous wrinkle relaxer treatments. Your provider may suggest avoiding alcohol and certain blood-thinning supplements beforehand to reduce the chance of bruising.

Dysport® is administered by appropriately licensed providers working within their scope of practice, under the medical direction of Dr. Alexander Schaal, M.D., Medical Director. Every treatment begins with a consultation about your goals, anatomy and the amount of movement you want to keep.

Common temporary effects include redness, swelling, bruising, headache or tenderness at injection sites. Less commonly, eyelid or brow drooping can occur. Rarely, the effect can spread beyond the injection area; seek medical care right away for difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing, or muscle weakness.
