    Why Skin Changes With Age

Skin aging is a combination of internal changes and external exposure. Understanding both helps explain why no single treatment does everything.

    Collagen and elastin

Collagen production gradually declines with age, and elastin becomes less resilient. This contributes to fine lines and laxity.

    Volume and structure

Facial fat pads shrink and shift, and bone structure changes over time, which can lead to hollowing and jowling.

    Surface and tone

Cell turnover slows and sun exposure accumulates, which can lead to dullness, texture and pigmentation.

    What this means for treatment

Because aging happens on several levels, thoughtful plans often combine approaches — for movement, volume, collagen and surface — over time. Redefining aging with authenticity means working with these changes, not erasing who you are.
